Cut beef into cubes (or leave whole if desired).

Mix mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix, and sherry in a small bowl. Place 1/2 of the soup mixture in the bottom of a crockpot.

Brown meat briefly in a skillet in olive oil. Place in crock pot.

Place remaining soup mixture over beef. Wash mushrooms. Place on top of soup mixture in crock pot.

Cook on low for about 8 hours.

About 30 minutes before serving time, cook barley, according to package directions.

About 10 minutes before serving time, wash and steam broccoli. To serve, place barley on plate. Spoon meat and gravy over barley, and serve broccoli on side with fresh squeezed lemon juice.
